The pharisees were disgusted by the kind of people that flocked to Jesus. In their eyes, Jesus was a defective leader who could never be a true king. Unlike the Pharisees who tried to patch up sinful lives with powerless religion, Jesus transformed sinners from the inside out by changing their desires.
